NuTropical
These pattern designs are in two categories; one is based on my large original gouache painting called, “NuTropical - Infrared” and the repeat prints were created using a kaleidoscope program so then it becomes all about selecting and editing. Addicting to use a kaleidoscope! The second group is all vector art based on elements that emerged in the first process, and drawings with freeform motifs inspired by my dream tropical beach cottage.
As a family, my mom, step-dad, brothers and our children, and I would take vacations to various Hawaiian islands, but usually Kauai. It is a magical, sacred place for us.
